STAPLE-IZER v0.0.5-alpha Update!
Since the first demo release I have been working more on quality of life features and bug fixing to ensure the game is as fun as possible with the current content.
Changelog
-Added weapon in-game tooltips so you can see a weapon's stats before picking it up
-Added an upgrades inventory that can be accessed with the TAB key, this simply shows all the upgrades acquired so far
-Modified some UI elements to make them look nicer, whilst still keeping the retro feel
-Fixed a bug with enemies sometimes standing still and not attacking the player
-Fixed a bug where the player's health bar could stop getting updated accurately
-Modified the "choose upgrade" system so that now after every room clear, if the player has any level up points it will automatically open the choose upgrade menu and keep letting the player choose upgrades until they use up all their points
-Added sounds for the pinboard boss and music for the boss fight
Planned Features
Top Priority
- A Mini-map to help with navigating through the procedural rooms
- Destructible objects to make the environment feel more alive!
- Balancing the existing content more, based on feedback from playtesting (I like the feeling of being overpowered as a player, but ensuring that it still feels fair and doesn’t make the game too easy is important!)
Long-Term
- More weapons, upgrades and enemies (as well as enemy variants)
- Multiple floors, each with their own themes and unique bosses
- Permanent unlocks that are kept between each run

Thank you so much to anyone who has played the game, it means a lot to hear that people are having fun with it! I hope to continue on with this project and make it into the fuller game that I have envisioned :)
